1. Student Council:2009-2011. Present-
I have been in student Council during all of Freshman/Sophomore year. During Student Council I have participated in organizing or helping with school activities.


2.Business Professionals of America: 2010-2011
I have been involved in BPA during my Sophomore year. In BPA I was elected Historian. In BPA I would attend meetings do discuss fund raising and projects.

3.Library Club: 2010-2011
 I have been in Library Club for all of my Sopmore year.  In Library Club I was assigned to read a book and then have a group discussion about the book.

4.Yearbook: 2010-2011
I was involved in yearbook during my Sophomore year. I was the Yearbook Photographer. I would take pictures of school related activities and events.
 

Skills

1.  Good Typing:
I have developed typing skills using Good Typing and can type 50 words per minute or more. I think this will prepare if I'm ever going to have a career using computers or if I'm required to work in an office.

2. Business 2 Class 2010-2011
 In Business 2 Class I have learned professional skills that will help me become prepared for the business world. I have learned how to speak, dress, and act in a professional manner.

3. Microsoft Office Powerpoint
I am certified in Powerpoint and I think this will help if I ever need to set up business presentations or show off my presentations skills.

4. Microsoft Office Excel
Although I am not certified in Excel, I have learned greatly from this program. I have learned how to work with spreadsheets, data functions, formulas, and much more. Having these skills will prepare for the business world.

5. Public Speaking
Having public speaking skills is a great skill for me, because I can present myself in front of a crowd in a calm manner. I can speak clearly and not get nervous and have great speaking skills.

6. Job Experience
I have job experience with TNT Fireworks. I worked in the office by organizing data, spreadsheets, expenses, and more.

I was certified in Powerpoint and know how to use powerpoint. I learned things I need to know about presentation.

Homework March 21

I am preparing for Microsoft Excel.
I am preparing myself by getting into Infosource, and going through a descriptive learning process, answering questions, and taking tests based on what I've learned.
I think I'm at an ok level, I've got a good idea of how to do things, and know how to do those things, but I just need a little more help/understanding on specific things.

Test

I thought the practice test was semi-hard. There were some questions that I found difficult, and some that I found easy. Most of the questions were kind of easy. I did learn how to do some of the questions, as I went thorughout the test. I did also learned the process of some questions.

Drunk Driving Technology

Q 3. Companies might attempt to solve the marketing  by giving the beneficial information of this technology. They would tell the public the positive things about this technology. They probably wouldn't be investing in this technology, if they think it won't sell.

Q 4. This technology  might not be profitable,because if the consumers don't like, they won't buy it. Some people might think that this technology is not beneficial for them.

Q 5. The public the people in America. They could behind this detection technology by researching it. Some drivers might want this technology. Some drivers might think of this technology as beneficial and might want this in their cars.

Go to New Slide in the Home tab then click re use slides then click open Powerpoint File then click the presentation you want and click open then hold down the control button and then click insert all slides, let go of the control button.

I want to finish reading 30 books of my choosing by the end of the school semester.

I would have to read one book a week, and make a list of how many books I've already read.


My SMART goal is to read 30 books by the end of the school semester.  I will keep track of how many books I've read by making a list of how many books I've read so far. I will read at least book a week. This is a reasonable goal, because I like to read. I think this goal is timely, because I will have to read one book a week, and I have a time limit.

This training was easy, and had things on there that I already knew how to do. the whole process was failry easy. The only thing I had trouble with was right-clicking.

I was on the side saying that Employers have the right not hire because you smoke.
I think we won,because we presented our issues and had reasons why we think we are right.

I think an employer can not hire you if you smoke because they may want a person who has a clean record and doesn't do drugs.

I think an employer can not hire you if you are obese, because they want a person who is fast, and if you are obese you might be really slow and might not be able to do much.

Nov 17 2010: Problems

The problems I ran into was finding if the busisnesses were hiring online. Some of the business websites did not have an online application, or I couldn't find out if they did. I couldn't find out what positions they were hiring for. Also, some busibsesses did have requirements listed, and some did not.

November 15 2010 Journal Entry

We can learn to get people who are hiring. We need to get people who don't require you to apply online. We also need to inform people that these careers are not going to hire you on the spot. These career representatives need to be committed and courteous to the students.

Job Expo Summary

This article is about how thousands of people went to a Job expo at the Civic Center , and it was one of largest job expos in Texas. last year 5,674 job hunters showed up last year, and 10,000 people showed up this year. Retailers, manufactures, call centers, school districts, and people from Fort Bliss participated and were exhibitors at the expo.  Interview people said that they went to every booth and  said that with the horrible economy, it was hard to find jobs. Also, it was difficult to find jobs that met their skills.  Although, people are glad that they found good jobs.

I think I'm going to be able to gain better social skills. I can associate with people, I wouldn't normally associate with and maybe learn something from them and get better acquainted. 

I can add better work skills, and help the less productive people around, to have a better attitude towards working and become more productive.

Strengths

1. Organization
I am very organized, and have great organization skills. I show this work ethic in class, by keeping all my work in order.

2. Typing
I would say that I'm pretty good at typing. I can type fast and I show that when we have typing assignments.

3.  Productive
I am productive, because I get my work done quickly, and I also try my best to get my work done as soon as it assigned.



Weaknesses

1. Although I am fast at typing, i do have some difficulty with accuracy. Sometimes, I don't spell things right. 


2.  I think I would like to work on my social skills. I am sometimes nervous when I talk to new people.

3.  I think I would like to be more patient. I'm not very tolerant with people who don't do work or are too lazy.
